2011crop

  • Labeling a piece of aluminum stock which will become an HS-7 rib. The HS-7 appears on the plan just above the aluminum.
  • I have transferred the rib pattern from the drawing onto the aluminum stock
  • First, I drill the relief holes so that the aluminum will not stretch and tear or crack at the intersection of two bends
  • The first rib, cut and deburred. Ready to bend.
  • A rib in my bending jig
  • After a bit of hammering, the rib comes out of the jig formed to shape.
  • Test fitting the rib into the end of the anti-servo tab. It fits!
  • Building the HS-9 ribs, I misaligned the first one in the bending jig. You can see in this photo that one of the ribs is malformed. I will have to remake this one.
  • All of the HS-7 and HS-9 ribs. A good weekend's work.
